Baumer Acquires Bourdon-Haenni Holding AG

Baumer Holding AG, Frauenfeld (Switzerland), acquires Bourdon-Haenni Group, Jegenstorf (Switzerland), from CGS (Jersey) Ltd. CGS is a private equity company specialized in the field of industrial buy-outs and developments. Baumer Group is a leading manufacturer of sensors and image processing solutions for industry automation. It is intended to run Bourdon-Haenni as an independent division of Baumer Group in the field of process automation.
Bourdon-Haenni Group is a successful merger of four companies in the field of sophisticated process instrumentation, and as a global leader, being proud of over 150 years of experience in measurement engineering of process automation. In 2005, 400 employees generated a turnover of 70 Mio CHF.
Bourdon-Haenni manufactures in four locations in Europe and South America mechanic and electronic measurement instruments and offers custom-made solutions for pressure, temperature, level and conductance measurements. A global distribution network with sales companies guarantees expert services, prompt delivery and first-class services.
Over the past 50 years, Baumer Group has gained an outstanding reputation in sensors and image processing solutions for industry automation. Actually, over 1’400 employees work for Baumer Group world-wide, of whom more than 200 are engineers in over 20 branch offices and subsidiaries. These independent and successful subsidiaries are managed by the Swiss holding company. There are four business divisions: sensors, vision systems, ident systems, motion control and glueing systems. Strongly focusing on customer support and international marketing, Baumer Group has grown substantially in the past few years.
By taking over Bourdon-Haenni Group, Baumer now has 1’800 employees and expects to achieve for 2006 a consolidated turnover of 400 Mio CHF.
